What we are looking for: • Proven experience as a steel fixer on building or civil sites • Physically fit for heavy lifting and long spells bending and kneeling • Sound knowledge of lap lengths, cover and bar spacing Day-to-day duties: • Fix cover blocks and spacers to maintain concrete cover • Read reinforcement drawings and bar bending schedules • Check bar diameter, spacing and cover before the pour • Place main bars and distribution bars to the marked spacing Freshers welcome — about 4 years of practice is enough.
