Foundry operative wanted in Livingston County

Urgent requirement: we are hiring a foundry operative in Livingston County, New York. You will be based in a non-ferrous casting shop. Day-to-day duties: • Assemble cope and drag mould halves and clamp them together • Fettle and grind castings to remove flash and rough edges • Check melt temperature with a pyrometer before pouring • Mix and recondition moulding sand to the right moisture • Tap the furnace and transfer the metal to the ladle • Make and bake sand cores for the internal cavities Requirements: • Physically fit to lift heavy moulding boxes and castings • Experience working in a ferrous or non-ferrous foundry • Knowledge of green-sand and resin-bonded moulding 6+ years on the tools preferred. Six days a week, one day off. On-the-job training and a clear path to grow. We offer $5,200 per month plus benefits. Walk-in interviews this week.
