Immediate opening: we are hiring a machine operator (earthworks) in Jackson County, West Virginia. You will be based at a road and highway construction project. Your main tasks: • Track the machine on and off low-loaders for transport • Backfill trenches and compact the fill in layers • Dig foundation trenches and footings to the marked depths and levels • Carry out daily greasing and check hydraulic oil, coolant and fuel levels • Strip and stockpile topsoil ready for reuse • Inspect tracks, bucket teeth and pins for wear before start-up Requirements: • Comfortable with GPS or laser machine control • Reliable, punctual and able to get to site 6+ years on the tools preferred.
