Vacancy available: we are hiring a sheet metal welder in Presidio County, Texas. You will work in a sheet-metal fabrication unit. What we are looking for: • Aware of PPE, fume extraction and hot-work safety • Able to TIG weld stainless steel and aluminium to a neat standard • Can read fabrication drawings and welding symbols Your main tasks: • Clamp and fit up components on the jig before welding • TIG weld aluminium sections after cleaning off the oxide layer • Keep the arc length and travel speed consistent • Grind, blend and polish finished welds to a clean finish • Strike the arc with high-frequency start and control heat with the foot pedal • Run butt, fillet, lap and corner joints to spec Freshers welcome — about 4 years of practice is enough.
