Requirements: • Sound knowledge of fabric types and correct heat settings • Comfortable standing long shifts in a hot, humid environment • Aware of steam iron safety and basic machine upkeep Day to day you will shape collars, cuffs and lapels using a tailor's ham and sleeve board; check every piece for scorch marks, shine and water spots; meet the daily piece target without damaging garments; clean and descale the iron soleplate and steam vents; keep the boiler topped up and hold steady steam pressure; operate the steam press and vacuum table to finish garments. 4+ years on the tools preferred.
