Hydraulic crane operator — North Slope Borough

Urgent requirement: we are hiring a hydraulic crane operator in North Slope Borough, Alaska. You will be based on a high-rise tower crane. Your main tasks: • Carry out pre-start checks on the crane, wire ropes and hook block • Fit the counterweights and check the ground bearing pressure • Climb and inspect the tower crane mast and tie-ins • Help set out the lift plan and barrier off the exclusion zone • Hoist, slew and lower loads smoothly and under control • Rig and sling loads using slings, shackles and spreader beams Ideal candidate: • Sound knowledge of rigging and slinging • Strong attention to safety and load limits • Physically fit to climb ladders and work long shifts Freshers welcome — about 4 years of practice is enough.
