Ladle pourer — McIntosh County

Immediate opening: we are hiring a ladle pourer in McIntosh County, Georgia. You will be based in the melting bay of a steel foundry. The role involves melt scrap metal and ingots in induction or cupola furnaces; make and bake sand cores for the internal cavities; mix and recondition moulding sand to the right moisture; shot-blast castings to clean off burnt sand and scale; apply mould coatings and dress the mould cavity; fettle and grind castings to remove flash and rough edges. Ideal candidate: • Comfortable working close to furnaces and molten metal • Basic grinding and fettling skills • Understanding of safe slinging and crane-ladle signalling Pay around $210 per day, based on your experience.
