Gtaw welder — City and Borough of Wakefield

Great opportunity: we are hiring a gtaw welder in City and Borough of Wakefield, England. You will be based in a food and dairy equipment factory. Day-to-day duties: • Weld stainless steel, aluminium and mild steel in thin gauges • Grind and sharpen tungsten electrodes to the correct taper • Inspect welds for porosity, undercut and lack of fusion • Read the WPS and weld to the specified parameters • Prep and fit up the joint, then lay tack welds before the full run • Control heat input so thin sheet does not warp Ideal candidate: • Able to pass a practical weld test on the first day • Own basic hand tools and PPE • Steady hands and good close-up eyesight Full-time with occasional weekends.
