Join our team: we are hiring a steel erection rigger in City of Buena Vista, Virginia. You will be based at a shipyard. Day-to-day duties: • Coordinate tandem and multi-crane lifts with the signaller • Calculate load weight and centre of gravity before every lift • Secure loads with turnbuckles, chain blocks and lever hoists • Read lift plans and method statements before starting • Inspect slings, shackles and eyebolts for wear, kinks and cracks before each use • Fit tag lines to control and steady suspended loads Ideal candidate: • Proven experience as a rigger on construction or industrial sites • Confident with standard crane hand signals • Sharp eye for safety and hazard awareness Part-time with flexible hours.
