The role involves prep and fit up the joint, then lay tack welds before the full run; select the tungsten type and gas cup size to suit the job; feed the filler rod by hand while controlling the weld puddle; set the amperage on the machine and modulate the current with the foot pedal; back-purge stainless pipe to stop root oxidation (sugaring); weld stainless steel, aluminium and mild steel in thin gauges. Requirements: • Able to weld thin-gauge sheet without burn-through • Sound knowledge of shielding gases and tungsten selection Performance bonus on top of base pay. Rotating shifts.
