Ideal candidate: • Good eyesight and steady hands for fine, accurate stitching • Understands fabric types and how to handle knits versus wovens • Able to read a spec sheet and follow a sewing operation breakdown The role involves: • Operate single-needle lockstitch, overlock and flatlock machines on a production line • Attach collars, cuffs, plackets, pockets and waistbands as per the spec sheet • Press open seams or use a folder/binder attachment for bound edges • Inspect each piece for skipped stitches, broken thread and needle holes • Change needles, presser feet and folders to suit the fabric and operation • Meet the hourly piece-rate target without dropping quality 5+ years on the tools preferred.
