Lifting rigger • Shelby County, Illinois

We are recruiting: we are hiring a lifting rigger in Shelby County, Illinois. You will be based on a high-rise building site. On a typical shift you will attach wire rope and chain slings to loads using shackles and hooks; guide loads through tight openings into their final position; direct the crane operator with standard hand signals and radio; inspect slings, shackles and eyebolts for wear, kinks and cracks before each use; rig and lift structural steel, precast panels and machinery into position; establish exclusion zones and keep workers clear of the lift area. Ideal candidate: • Sound knowledge of working load limits and sling angles • Valid rigging / lifting certificate or banksman-slinger ticket • Willing to work shifts, weekends and outdoors in all weather 6+ years on the tools preferred.
