Structural MIG welder — Sanborn County

Vacancy available: we are hiring a structural MIG welder in Sanborn County, South Dakota. You will be based in a heavy engineering unit. Day-to-day duties: • Strike and hold a stable short-circuit or spray-transfer arc • Tack components to the jig and check the fit-up against the drawing • Maintain the torch liner, earth clamp and gas hose • Clear spatter and slag, then wire-brush the finished bead • Check welds for porosity, undercut and lack of penetration • Set the shielding-gas flow on the CO2/argon-mix regulator You should have: • Aware of PPE, fume extraction and hot-work safety • Able to read weld symbols and fabrication drawings We offer $3,100 per month plus benefits.
