Milling machinist — Prince of Wales-Hyder Census Area

Vacancy available: we are hiring a milling machinist in Prince of Wales-Hyder Census Area, Alaska. You will be based at an automotive components factory. The role involves: • Machine slots, pockets, flats, keyways and contours to drawing • Measure features with vernier callipers, micrometers and bore gauges • Load and edit CNC programs (G-code) at the Fanuc/Siemens control • Carry out daily lubrication and routine machine maintenance • Set up and operate vertical and horizontal milling machines • Set spindle speeds and feed rates to suit the material and cutter You should have: • Able to read engineering drawings and interpret GD&T • Safety conscious and comfortable wearing PPE around moving machinery • Physically fit to stand and lift workpieces Freshers welcome — about 2 years of practice is enough.
