Vacancy available: metal caster (North Carolina)

Great opportunity: we are hiring a metal caster in Chatham County, North Carolina. You will be based in the melting bay of a steel foundry. Ideal candidate: • Keen eye for casting defects during inspection • Willing to work in hot, dusty conditions and rotating shifts • Physically fit to lift heavy moulding boxes and castings Your main tasks: • Fettle and grind castings to remove flash and rough edges • Melt scrap metal and ingots in induction or cupola furnaces • Check melt temperature with a pyrometer before pouring • Carry out shakeout and knock the castings out of the sand • Cut off risers, runners and gates with a grinder or torch At least 5 year(s) in a similar role. Pay around $5,200 per month, based on your experience. Performance bonus on top of base pay. Six days a week, one day off. Contact us to fix an interview.
