Immediate opening: we are hiring a fire and safety officer in Kemper County, Mississippi. You will work at a manufacturing plant. What we are looking for: • Confident enough to halt unsafe work on the spot • Comfortable working at height and inside confined spaces • Valid first aid and basic firefighting training Day to day you will inspect scaffolding, full-body harnesses and lifelines for work at height; enforce lockout-tagout (LOTO) on energised and rotating equipment; record accident statistics and keep the safety logbook up to date; stop unsafe work and brief the supervisor on corrective action; audit housekeeping and barricading around excavations and open edges; carry out toolbox talks with the crew before each shift. 3+ years on the tools preferred.
