Ideal candidate: • Knowledge of short-circuit and spray-transfer modes • Comfortable welding mild steel, stainless and aluminium Day to day you will lay stringer and weave beads on fillet and butt joints; set the wire feed speed and voltage to suit the plate thickness; load ER70S-6 wire spools and check the drive rolls; strike and hold a stable short-circuit or spray-transfer arc; read fabrication drawings and weld symbols; change worn contact tips and gas nozzles on the torch.
