Immediate opening: we are hiring a counter butcher in Stone County, Mississippi. Your main tasks: • Season and marinate meat on request • Sharpen and hone knives on a steel and whetstone • Mince meat and prepare keema on the grinder • Trim fat, sinew and silver skin off the cuts • Weigh, price and label cuts for the display case • Stuff and link fresh sausages with casings What we are looking for: • Physically fit to lift carcasses and stand all day • Confident knife skills and safe blade handling • Knowledge of halal slaughter and handling where required Freshers welcome — about 6 years of practice is enough. Full-time with occasional weekends. A stable, long-term role with a friendly crew. $2,700 per month, negotiable for the right hands. Walk-in interviews this week.
