Great opportunity: we are hiring a fettler in Irwin County, Georgia. The job is at a busy iron foundry. On a typical shift you will cut off risers, runners and gates with a grinder or torch; make and bake sand cores for the internal cavities; check melt temperature with a pyrometer before pouring; skim slag and dross off the melt before tapping and pouring; inspect castings for cold shuts, blowholes and shrinkage defects. Ideal candidate: • Basic grinding and fettling skills • Experience working in a ferrous or non-ferrous foundry 4+ years on the tools preferred. Pay around $3,800 per month, based on your experience.
