Gas metal arc welder — Washington County

Immediate opening: we are hiring a gas metal arc welder in Washington County, North Carolina. You will work in a sheet-metal fabrication unit. You will tack components to the jig and check the fit-up against the drawing; clear spatter and slag, then wire-brush the finished bead; load ER70S-6 wire spools and check the drive rolls; set the shielding-gas flow on the CO2/argon-mix regulator; bevel and grind the joint edges clean before welding; grind back and re-weld any defective runs. What we are looking for: • Aware of PPE, fume extraction and hot-work safety • Able to grind, fit-up and tack independently • Willing to work shifts and overtime Freshers welcome — about 5 years of practice is enough. $27 per hour, negotiable for the right hands.
