Great opportunity: toolroom milling operator (Louisiana)

Join our team: we are hiring a toolroom milling operator in Lafayette Parish, Louisiana. The job is at a busy machine shop. Your main tasks: • Keep in-process inspection records and log production counts • Machine slots, pockets, flats, keyways and contours to drawing • Hold close tolerances down to ±0.02 mm • Set tool offsets and the work zero (G54) using an edge finder or probe • Read engineering drawings and GD&T to plan the machining sequence • Apply cutting coolant and clear swarf from the machine bed Ideal candidate: • Good eyesight and steady hands for close-tolerance work • Able to read engineering drawings and interpret GD&T • Able to grind and set HSS cutters Rotating shifts. $22 per hour, negotiable for the right hands.
