Urgent requirement: we are hiring a tig welder in Allendale County, South Carolina. Requirements: • Comfortable working to tight fit-up tolerances • Able to pass a practical weld test on the first day • Physically fit to work in confined spaces and at height Your main tasks: • Inspect welds for porosity, undercut and lack of fusion • Control heat input so thin sheet does not warp • Strike and hold a stable arc with a non-consumable tungsten electrode • Weld in flat, horizontal, vertical and overhead positions • Back-purge stainless pipe to stop root oxidation (sugaring) • Run root passes and fill passes on pipe joints Six days a week, one day off.
