Cement mason — Vermilion Parish

Now hiring: we are hiring a cement mason in Vermilion Parish, Louisiana. You will be based at an infrastructure site. Day-to-day duties: • Cure slabs by ponding, wet hessian or curing compound for the required days • Fix and tie reinforcement bars and mesh as per the bar bending schedule • Cut control and expansion joints at the correct spacing • Set out levels with a spirit level, line and pins • Compact fresh concrete with immersion poker vibrators to clear honeycombing What we are looking for: • Sound knowledge of concrete grades, slump and curing periods • Physically fit for heavy lifting and long hours on your feet Freshers welcome — about 4 years of practice is enough.
