Sand plant operator — Hood River County

Urgent requirement: we are hiring a sand plant operator in Hood River County, Oregon. You will be based at a busy iron foundry. On a typical shift you will maintain crucibles, ladles and furnace linings; prepare green-sand moulds and ram the sand into the moulding boxes; skim slag and dross off the melt before tapping and pouring; check melt temperature with a pyrometer before pouring; shot-blast castings to clean off burnt sand and scale. What we are looking for: • Keen eye for casting defects during inspection • Basic grinding and fettling skills • Physically fit to lift heavy moulding boxes and castings At least 1 year(s) in a similar role. Rotating shifts. Meals and transport allowance provided. Walk-in interviews this week.
