Reinforcement fitter — Assumption Parish

Great opportunity: we are hiring a reinforcement fitter in Assumption Parish, Louisiana. The job is on an infrastructure project such as a metro or flyover. Requirements: • Confident tying with a tie hook and handling binding wire • Sound knowledge of lap lengths, cover and bar spacing • Aware of concrete cover and tolerance requirements Day-to-day duties: • Lift and land prefabricated cages with the crane and banksman • Set out starter bars and column dowels for the next lift • Install chairs and bar supports to hold up the top mat • Tie bar intersections with binding wire using a tie hook or pliers • Check bar diameter, spacing and cover before the pour • Lay and tie mesh for slabs and ground-bearing floors Full-time with occasional weekends.
