Crane operator wanted in City of Norton

Vacancy available: we are hiring a crane operator in City of Norton, Virginia. You will work at a shipbuilding yard. You should have: • Physically fit to climb ladders and work long shifts • Able to read load charts and lifting plans • Valid crane operator licence or certificate (CPCS, NPORS or local equivalent) You will follow hand signals and radio calls from the banksman or slinger; keep a safe distance from overhead power lines; rig and sling loads using slings, shackles and spreader beams; work out the load weight and the lifting radius; help set out the lift plan and barrier off the exclusion zone; fit the counterweights and check the ground bearing pressure. 2+ years on the tools preferred. Part-time with flexible hours. Meals and transport allowance provided. Walk-in interviews this week.
