Now hiring: we are hiring an aluminium tig welder in City of Portsmouth, Virginia. Requirements: • Able to pass a practical weld test on the first day • Steady hands and good close-up eyesight • Comfortable working to tight fit-up tolerances Day-to-day duties: • Run root passes and fill passes on pipe joints • Grind and sharpen tungsten electrodes to the correct taper • Control heat input so thin sheet does not warp • Carry out 6G pipe welds where required • Back-purge stainless pipe to stop root oxidation (sugaring) At least 3 year(s) in a similar role.
