Now hiring: we are hiring a lathe operator in Alleghany County, North Carolina. Ideal candidate: • Basic record-keeping and part-counting skills • Good attention to detail and steady hands • ITI or diploma in fitter or machinist trade an advantage Your main tasks: • Top up coolant, lubricant and hydraulic oil levels • Report breakdowns to the maintenance fitter • Run the first-off piece and check it against the drawing • Record output, scrap and downtime on the production sheet • Measure parts with vernier calliper, micrometer and go/no-go gauges • Segregate finished parts into bins and label the batches Rotating shifts.
