Wood machinist wanted in Lyon County

Vacancy available: we are hiring a wood machinist in Lyon County, Iowa. You will be based in a cabinet-making workshop. Day to day you will cut mortise-and-tenon and dovetail joints with chisels and a mallet; check work for level, plumb and square with a spirit level; read and work from architectural drawings and cutting lists; hang internal and external doors, fitting hinges, locks and handles; finish surfaces with varnish, wax, lacquer or wood stain; apply edge banding, veneers and laminate to board. What we are looking for: • Good eye for detail and a clean finish • Accurate to fine tolerances on finish work • Own basic hand tools Freshers welcome — about 5 years of practice is enough. $4,100 per month, negotiable for the right hands.
