Great opportunity: we are hiring a gang bricklayer in West Northamptonshire, England. You will be based on a scaffolded high-rise site. Day to day you will erecting and working off trestles and scaffold lifts; mixing mortar to the right consistency with sand, cement and plasticiser; installing damp-proof courses, lintels and cavity trays; brushing the wall down and removing mortar snots as you go; pointing and repointing weathered mortar joints; building cavity walls and bedding in wall ties and insulation. What we are looking for: • Physically fit for lifting bricks and blocks all day • Own trowel, spirit level and basic hand tools • Sound knowledge of mortar mixes and bonds (stretcher, English, Flemish) Freshers welcome — about 6 years of practice is enough.
