Requirements: • Able to TIG weld stainless steel and aluminium to a neat standard • Able to pass a weld test on the spot • Sound knowledge of argon gas settings and tungsten selection Your main tasks: • Strike the arc with high-frequency start and control heat with the foot pedal • Grind, blend and polish finished welds to a clean finish • Select AC for aluminium and DC for stainless and mild steel • Run butt, fillet, lap and corner joints to spec • Clamp and fit up components on the jig before welding • Back-purge pipe joints with argon so the root does not oxidise Part-time with flexible hours.
