Stainless steel welder — Orkney Islands

Join our team: we are hiring a stainless steel welder in Orkney Islands, Scotland. The job is at a busy fabrication workshop. You will set the argon flow on the flowmeter and check the hose for leaks; back-purge pipe joints with argon so the root does not oxidise; feed filler rod by hand while holding a steady weld pool; strike the arc with high-frequency start and control heat with the foot pedal; keep the arc length and travel speed consistent; clean joints with acetone and a dedicated stainless wire brush. Requirements: • ITI or trade certificate in welding an advantage • Sound knowledge of argon gas settings and tungsten selection • 2+ years' hands-on experience with argon/TIG welding At least 5 year(s) in a similar role. £2,700 per month, negotiable for the right hands. Full-time, day shift. Walk-in interviews this week.
