On a typical shift you will change worn contact tips and gas nozzles on the torch; set the wire feed speed and voltage to suit the plate thickness; strike and hold a stable short-circuit or spray-transfer arc; bevel and grind the joint edges clean before welding; set the shielding-gas flow on the CO2/argon-mix regulator; load ER70S-6 wire spools and check the drive rolls.
