Bar bender and fixer — Alexander County

Now hiring: we are hiring a bar bender and fixer in Alexander County, North Carolina. You should have: • Confident tying with a tie hook and handling binding wire • Willing to work outdoors in all weather and to tight pour dates • Sound knowledge of lap lengths, cover and bar spacing On the job you will handle: • Set out starter bars and column dowels for the next lift • Place main bars and distribution bars to the marked spacing • Lay and tie mesh for slabs and ground-bearing floors • Read reinforcement drawings and bar bending schedules • Fix cover blocks and spacers to maintain concrete cover • Form stirrups, links and hooks to the correct dimensions Full-time with occasional weekends. $240 per day, negotiable for the right hands.
