Machine operator (earthworks) • Fluvanna County, Virginia

Vacancy available: we are hiring a machine operator (earthworks) in Fluvanna County, Virginia. You will work at a road and highway construction project. Day-to-day duties: • Excavate trenches for water, sewer and cable runs • Work safely around buried services with a banksman or spotter • Clear sites, demolish structures and load out muck and rubble • Keep the cab clean and oil-free and report defects promptly • Backfill trenches and compact the fill in layers • Strip and stockpile topsoil ready for reuse You should have: • Proven experience on 360 tracked excavators (8t–30t) • Able to read drawings, setting-out pegs and level pegs • Own PPE — safety boots, hi-vis and hard hat Freshers welcome — about 1 years of practice is enough. Part-time with flexible hours. $2,600 per month, negotiable for the right hands. Walk-in interviews this week.
