Ladle pourer • Piatt County, Illinois

Vacancy available: we are hiring a ladle pourer in Piatt County, Illinois. You will be based in the fettling and dressing shop. Day-to-day duties: • Skim slag and dross off the melt before tapping and pouring • Tap the furnace and transfer the metal to the ladle • Prepare green-sand moulds and ram the sand into the moulding boxes • Carry out shakeout and knock the castings out of the sand • Make and bake sand cores for the internal cavities • Mix and recondition moulding sand to the right moisture What we are looking for: • Knowledge of green-sand and resin-bonded moulding • Able to read simple casting drawings and job cards Full-time, day shift.
