Ideal candidate: • Knowledge of short-circuit and spray-transfer modes • Able to grind, fit-up and tack independently On the job you will handle: • Strike and hold a stable short-circuit or spray-transfer arc • Set the wire feed speed and voltage to suit the plate thickness • Grind back and re-weld any defective runs • Bevel and grind the joint edges clean before welding • Tack components to the jig and check the fit-up against the drawing • Maintain the torch liner, earth clamp and gas hose Freshers welcome — about 1 years of practice is enough.
