Now hiring: we are hiring a MIG welder in Greene County, Illinois. The job is at a steel fabrication workshop. You should have: • Able to pass a 3G/4G plate test • Willing to work shifts and overtime • Knowledge of short-circuit and spray-transfer modes Your main tasks: • Check welds for porosity, undercut and lack of penetration • Set the shielding-gas flow on the CO2/argon-mix regulator • Control distortion with a balanced welding sequence • Clear spatter and slag, then wire-brush the finished bead • Set the wire feed speed and voltage to suit the plate thickness • Load ER70S-6 wire spools and check the drive rolls $160 per day, negotiable for the right hands.
