Immediate opening: foundry worker (South Carolina)

Now hiring: we are hiring a foundry worker in Abbeville County, South Carolina. You will work at an aluminium die-casting plant. Your main tasks: • Skim slag and dross off the melt before tapping and pouring • Fettle and grind castings to remove flash and rough edges • Inspect castings for cold shuts, blowholes and shrinkage defects • Make and bake sand cores for the internal cavities • Check melt temperature with a pyrometer before pouring • Maintain crucibles, ladles and furnace linings Requirements: • Physically fit to lift heavy moulding boxes and castings • Keen eye for casting defects during inspection At least 1 year(s) in a similar role.
