Gtaw welder wanted in City of Fairfax

Immediate opening: we are hiring a gtaw welder in City of Fairfax, Virginia. The job is on an industrial construction site. Ideal candidate: • Sound knowledge of shielding gases and tungsten selection • Able to pass a practical weld test on the first day Your main tasks: • Control heat input so thin sheet does not warp • Set up the argon shielding gas and check the flow rate at the regulator • Grind and sharpen tungsten electrodes to the correct taper • Weld in flat, horizontal, vertical and overhead positions • Back-purge stainless pipe to stop root oxidation (sugaring) • Clean the base metal with a stainless brush and acetone before welding Part-time with flexible hours. $4,300 per month, negotiable for the right hands.
