Immediate opening: we are hiring a fettler in Schuyler County, New York. Your main tasks: • Maintain crucibles, ladles and furnace linings • Mix and recondition moulding sand to the right moisture • Carry out shakeout and knock the castings out of the sand • Tap the furnace and transfer the metal to the ladle • Check melt temperature with a pyrometer before pouring Ideal candidate: • Able to read simple casting drawings and job cards • Physically fit to lift heavy moulding boxes and castings At least 2 year(s) in a similar role.
