We are recruiting: we are hiring a blocklayer in Crockett County, Tennessee. The job is at a renovation and extension job. Requirements: • Sound knowledge of mortar mixes and bonds (stretcher, English, Flemish) • Able to read construction drawings and setting-out marks • Physically fit for lifting bricks and blocks all day The role involves erecting and working off trestles and scaffold lifts; installing damp-proof courses, lintels and cavity trays; spreading and furrowing mortar beds with the trowel; checking every course for height and level with a gauge rod; mixing mortar to the right consistency with sand, cement and plasticiser; cutting bricks to size with a bolster and club hammer or angle grinder. Freshers welcome — about 1 years of practice is enough. Six days a week, one day off. Overtime paid at a premium rate. Apply today to start as soon as possible.
