Great opportunity: we are hiring a steel fixing chargehand in Passaic County, New Jersey. You will work at a high-rise construction project. What we are looking for: • Proven experience as a steel fixer on building or civil sites • Confident tying with a tie hook and handling binding wire • Willing to work outdoors in all weather and to tight pour dates On a typical shift you will install chairs and bar supports to hold up the top mat; fit mechanical couplers where shown on the drawings; bend bars to shape on a bar bending machine; keep the rebar stacked, tagged and free of mud and loose rust. Freshers welcome — about 2 years of practice is enough. Full-time with occasional weekends. Overtime paid at a premium rate. We offer $3,400 per month plus benefits.
