Urgent requirement: we are hiring a fettler in Hockley County, Texas. You will be based at a brass and bronze foundry. The role involves check melt temperature with a pyrometer before pouring; melt scrap metal and ingots in induction or cupola furnaces; apply mould coatings and dress the mould cavity; mix and recondition moulding sand to the right moisture; cut off risers, runners and gates with a grinder or torch; inspect castings for cold shuts, blowholes and shrinkage defects. You should have: • Willing to wear full PPE such as heat-resistant apron, spats and visor • Physically fit to lift heavy moulding boxes and castings • Keen eye for casting defects during inspection $3,600 per month, negotiable for the right hands.
