Vacancy available: we are hiring a steel fixing chargehand in City of Williamsburg, Virginia. The job is on a busy residential building site. The role involves read reinforcement drawings and bar bending schedules; check bar diameter, spacing and cover before the pour; tie bar intersections with binding wire using a tie hook or pliers; lay and tie mesh for slabs and ground-bearing floors; bend bars to shape on a bar bending machine; place main bars and distribution bars to the marked spacing. What we are looking for: • Able to read reinforcement drawings and bar bending schedules • Proven experience as a steel fixer on building or civil sites • Valid site safety card and PPE (helmet, boots, gloves) Rotating shifts.
