Immediate opening: we are hiring a brick and block layer in Hardin County, Texas. You should have: • CSCS card or willingness to obtain one • Able to read construction drawings and setting-out marks • NVQ Level 2 in Bricklaying an advantage The role involves: • Pointing and repointing weathered mortar joints • Cutting bricks to size with a bolster and club hammer or angle grinder • Installing damp-proof courses, lintels and cavity trays • Bedding in air bricks, weep holes and wall starters • Buttering the perpends and tapping each brick down to the gauge • Erecting and working off trestles and scaffold lifts Freshers welcome — about 4 years of practice is enough.
