Sewing machine operator wanted in Washington County

Vacancy available: we are hiring a sewing machine operator in Washington County, New York. The job is in a textile and apparel unit. Day to day you will operate single-needle lockstitch, overlock and flatlock machines on a production line; match notches and ply, lining up checks and stripes before stitching; set armholes and sleeves, easing the cap so there are no puckers; meet the hourly piece-rate target without dropping quality; attach collars, cuffs, plackets, pockets and waistbands as per the spec sheet; stitch seams, hems, side seams and shoulder joins to the marked seam allowance. Requirements: • Hands-on with single needle, overlock and flatlock machines • ITI / tailoring certificate is a plus • Good eyesight and steady hands for fine, accurate stitching Freshers welcome — about 4 years of practice is enough. $5,000 per month, negotiable for the right hands.
