Great opportunity: we are hiring a banksman in LaSalle County, Illinois. The job is in a heavy machinery workshop. What we are looking for: • Ability to read lift plans and rigging diagrams • Physically fit to handle heavy chains, slings and shackles • Able to inspect and reject defective lifting gear Day to day you will select the correct slings, shackles and chains for each load's weight; take part in toolbox talks and pre-lift briefings; coordinate tandem and multi-crane lifts with the signaller; guide loads through tight openings into their final position; establish exclusion zones and keep workers clear of the lift area; set up spreader bars and lifting beams for long or awkward loads. 3+ years on the tools preferred.
