Single needle operator • Nassau County, New York

Vacancy available: we are hiring a single needle operator in Nassau County, New York. What we are looking for: • Quality-conscious with an eye for puckers, skipped stitches and uneven seams • Understands fabric types and how to handle knits versus wovens • ITI / tailoring certificate is a plus The role involves: • Attach collars, cuffs, plackets, pockets and waistbands as per the spec sheet • Set armholes and sleeves, easing the cap so there are no puckers • Inspect each piece for skipped stitches, broken thread and needle holes • Press open seams or use a folder/binder attachment for bound edges • Operate single-needle lockstitch, overlock and flatlock machines on a production line • Match notches and ply, lining up checks and stripes before stitching Freshers welcome — about 2 years of practice is enough.
