We are recruiting: we are hiring a finishing presser in Hoke County, North Carolina. The role involves clean and descale the iron soleplate and steam vents; set the iron temperature to suit cotton, silk, wool and synthetic fabrics; shape collars, cuffs and lapels using a tailor's ham and sleeve board; fuse interlinings and fusible tape on the fusing press; keep the boiler topped up and hold steady steam pressure; use a pressing cloth to protect delicate fabrics. You should have: • A keen eye for scorch, shine and uneven creases • Sound knowledge of fabric types and correct heat settings • Comfortable standing long shifts in a hot, humid environment At least 3 year(s) in a similar role.
